Dr. John Hunt has been the owner and operator of the hospital since 1988. He and his family moved up from Connecticut after practicing for 5 years at three different small animal practices in the Hartford area.
Dr. Hunt purchased the practice when it was a part time satellite clinic for Dr. Andrews in Searsport. The Bucksport Bay Area welcomed Dr. Hunt’s full veterinary care service with open arms and fantastic support. In a matter of 3 to 4 years the facility changed from a small red farm house to a large full scale hospital with kennels, surgery suite, 3 exam rooms, and state of the art diagnostic equipment.

After taking a year off in which he taught college biology and coached track in his home town, Dr. Hunt headed back to E. Lansing to attend veterinary school. After graduating from MSU Veterinary College in 1982 he settled in Connecticut to start his career and a family.
